Equine Externships

Who can participate in an externship?

Our externships are open to students currently attending any AVMA accredited veterinary school worldwide.

What can I expect from an externship at Mid-Atlantic Equine?

Externs are encouraged to observe and assist with exams, procedures, surgeries and treatments both in the hospital and in the field.  Our program is very rigorous and will expose you to a variety of cases, horses and clients which will give you an idea of what to expect in a private practice setting.

How do I apply for an externship?

Email externships@midatlanticequine.com to inquire about scheduling availability.  The externship schedule fills quickly, especially for the spring and summer months. You will be asked to send us a copy of your resume or CV, a letter of intent, a letter of good academic standing from your school,  proof of liability insurance and a digital picture of yourself.

Housing and car services (to and from specific airports) will be provided upon request.
